Rare Double Moneyer Issue

H4027 - Eadgar (959-975), Penny, 0.94g., Circumscription Cross type, moneyer Fastulfr Hrafn, +EADGAR ! REX!, around inner circle with a cross within, rev., FA•STOLF:R•AFN, around inner circle with a cross within, (N.748; S.1134), broken and repaired, good very fine, rare. $595

A.H. Baldwin ticket in the hand of Albert Henry Frederick Baldwin (1889-1970).
 
This issue would appear to be a joint issue between one of the established primary moneyer's Fastulfr and another individual Hrafn. Fastulf is a prolific issuer in his own name and also with two other individuals called Boga and Oda. These combinations of names give us an insight to the organization of the York mint under Edgar, with primary or principal moneyers farming out quotas to secondary or minor moneyers.

GK2 - Eadgar (959-975), Penny, 1.01g., Two-line type, Group HT 1 NE V, York mint, moneyer Heriger, +EADGAR•REX•, around inner circle with a cross within, rev., HERIGER M•O in two lines divided by + + +, trefoil of pellets above and below (N.741; S.1129), chipped with small daylight crack at 7 o'clock otherwise extremely fine. $645
