H3219 - Aethelred II, the Unready (978-1016), Silver Penny, 1.42g., CRVX type (c.991-c.997), London - Ælfwine, bare-headed bust left with sceptre, ÆÐELRED REX ANGLORX, rev., short cross voided CRVX in the angles, +ÆLFPNE M - O LVN, pellet on inner circle in 3rd quarter as privy mark, (N.770; S.1148),  contemporary piercing at 6 o'clock for suspension on the cross side, striking crack, otherwise sound fabric, good very fine, toned, rare with privy mark, good provenance. $395 SOLD
