IR1500 - Hiberno-Norse Kings of Dublin, Sihtric Anlafsson 'Silkenbeard' (c.997-c.1020), Phase I (c.995-c.1000), Penny, 1.60g., in imitation of the English, Aethelred II CRVX type, in the name of Aethelred II, Fastulfr - Dublin, diademed bust with sceptre left, +EĐELRED REX ANG, rev., short voided cross with CRVX in angles, FAZTOL - DIMIIH-, (S.6102; same dies as SCBI 8, 9-11 (British Museum)), rich golden toning, crudely cut and somewhat worn dies otherwise practically as struck on a large well centered flan, extremely rare. $4995 SOLD
