H4288 - Cnut (1016-1035), Silver Penny, 1.07g., Short Cross type (c.1029 - c.1035/36), Lincoln – Svertingr, diademed bust left holding sceptre with lis head, +CNVT•RECX, rev., voided short cross with annulet at centre, +SPARTINC ON LIN, (N.790; S.1159; same dies as SCBI 14: 1848) striking crack vertically across bust, does not extend to the edge, otherwise solid fabric, old cabinet toning, good very fine. $295 A.
