Carlisle in the distance, GUL. AUG. DUX. CUMBERLANDIAE, in the
exergue NAT 5 APRIL 1721 (born April 5, 1721), rev., an armoured
figure (representing the Duke) presenting an olive branch to a seated
figure female figure (England), below a vanquished Caledonian (Jacobite)
on his shield the Papal crown, SPEM REDUCIS MENTIBUS ANXIIS (Hope of
return to anxious minds), exergue: MDCCXLV I KIRK F, (M.I. II. 264; Woolf 53:1),
pierced for suspension and for contemporary wearing, some marks in the
field, almost extremely fine. $325
