(1660-1685), Royalist Supporters Badge, Silver cast and chased badge with suspension loop, 37mm
by 28mm, crowned bust of Charles II right, rev., incuse Royal crowned
arms, with Garter inscribed HONI SVI QVI MAL Y PENSE, dividing C R, (MI 444/19), very
well executed, toned, almost extremely fine, rare, an attractive item. $795

Medals of this type were struck in support of Charles II both prior to his restoration or in
celebration of the event. They therefore have been worn
surreptitiously under outer garments during the
days of the Republic or ostentatiously in full view after the
Restoration.
