R1547 - Maximinus II as Caesar (A.D. 305-309), Æ Follis, 6.78g., Antioch mint (Antakiyah, Turkey), 1st officina, MAXIMINVS NOB CAES, helmeted and cuirassed bust left, holding spear over right shoulder in right hand, wearing on left arm a shield depicting two horsemen riding down four enemies, rev., SOLI INVICTAE, Sol standing in facing quadriga, raising right hand and holding globe in left, A / ANT, (RIC 144 var), good fine, extremely rare. $495

The use of the feminine INVICTAE instead of the male INVICTO is curious given the male nature of Sol. A good very fine example of this extremely rare type sold for $1840 in Triton X auction, Lot: 772, 8 January 2007.
