H1622 - Stephen (1135-1154), Silver Penny, 1.36g., Profile / Cross and Piles type (c.1160-54), B.M.C. type VI, Castle Rising - Rodbert, RO[D]BE[T ON RIS], crowned bust left, holding sceptre, rev., cross fleury, a pile surmounted by a trefoil annulets in each angle, (S.1281; N. 879: Mack 82; sames dies as EMC #1200.0187), bent and with a small chip, fair, reverse off centre but nearly very fine, a very rare mint and type. $695 SOLD

Found in Norfolk not far from the site of the Wicklewood hoard.

  H1645 - Stephen (1135-1154), Silver Cut Halfpenny, 0.57g., Civil War and Anarchy, York Ornamented Group (c.1150), crowned bust right, holding lis sceptre surmounted by by lozenge and a pellet, [STI]EN...., ornamnets in legend, rev., saltire fleury over cross pommée, ornaments in lieu of legend, (S.1314; N.920: Mack 218), a little weakly struck but a good clean cut halfpenny, otherwise very fine and extremely rare. $995 SOLD
